Despite Shane McMahon having no contract with WWE, AEW aren’t pursuing the 54-year-old.

Last week, on an episode of his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross revealed that he’d heard that Shane McMahon had reached out to some in AEW regarding coming into the company, sparking many fa a to wonder whether this is something we could one day see. Now, more has come out regarding the interest levels of All Elite Wrestling.

Per Fightful Select, it’s believed that, despite some AEW roster members asking about the rumours, the company haven’t considered bringing Shane McMahon in.

“There were numerous talent that inquired with us an internally about the possibility of Shane appearing in AEW, but were told that it hasn’t been something considered.”

However, this isn’t due to any current contract restraints, as the report goes on to clarify that Shane McMahon is not under any deal with WWE at present.

“Though Shane appeared at WrestleMania last year, he no longer has a contract of any kind with WWE, including a talent contract, legends contract, or anything of the sort.”

While the idea of Shane McMahon may still seem very far-fetched, ‘The Money’ hasn’t made an appearance in WWE since WrestleMania 39 when he suffered an injury in an impromptu match with The Miz, so the second-generation businessman and performer is certainly free to explore his options regarding a possible return to wrestling.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the possibility of Shane McMahon to AEW as soon as we hear more.
