The Hardy Boyz are reunited but their long-term futures are uncertain.

At TNA Against All Odds on June 14th, Jeff Hardy made his return to TNA Wrestling after a 7-year stint away from the promotion, during which he spent time wrestling for ROH, WWE, and most recently AEW. At the show, Jeff reunited with his brother Matt Hardy following his unsuccessful challenge for the TNA World Championship against Moose, with his contract with AEW having expired earlier that day.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select is now reporting that both Matt and Jeff Hardy are still free agents and are working for TNA without contracts as of writing, adding that Jeff’s return to the promotion, whilst assumed to be happening, wasn’t confirmed to many within the company until the day of Against All Odds.

“Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp was able to confirm that both Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy are still free agents, and are working in TNA Wrestling without contracts. Many people in TNA were assuming that Jeff Hardy would join the fold, but hadn’t been outright told before Friday.”

Additionally, the report notes that Matt Hardy’s original agreement with TNA Wrestling was supposed to be a short-term deal, although additional dates have since been added. Creative pitches are also said to have been made for Reby Hardy to wrestle in TNA, and whilst nothing is confirmed, it would be Hardy’s first in-ring outing since 2016.

Regarding Matt and Jeff’s relationship with AEW, Fightful add that they’ve not heard of any continued extended talks with the promotion, however they did hear that the “seems to remain open” for the two sides to work together again in the future.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Matt and Jeff Hardy as soon as we hear more.
