Ricochet Reportedly Set To Leave WWE When His Contract Expires This Summer

The past few weeks have seen WWE contract news dominate the headlines, with speculation over the futures of Becky Lynch, Chad Gable, and many others raging on. One name whose contract is expected to expire this summer is Ricochet, and we now have a major update regarding his future.

PWInsider are now reporting that Ricochet has given notice to WWE that he intends to leave the company following the expiration of his contract, with plans in place to write him out of WWE storylines in the near future.

“PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources that WWE’s Ricochet has given notice that he intends to exit the company when his current contract expires this summer. We are told that Ricochet is expected to be written out of WWE storylines very soon in advance of the contract expiration.”

Ricochet signed with WWE in 2018, with his accolades including NXT North American, Intercontinental & United States Championship reigns, along with being the inaugural WWE Speed Champion.

Prior to joining WWE, Ricochet found success across with a number of promotions, most notably New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he had a legendary bout with current AEW International Champion Will Ospreay. Ospreay recently revealed that he’d love to face Ricochet again if he were to leave WWE, and thus speculation that he may now be AEW-bound is likely to ramp up in the coming days.

The report additionally notes that one source said they were giving Ricochet “all the credit in the world for betting on himself.”
