Reports have now confirmed that Bryan Danielson has suffered a legitimate injury.
This past Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw the Blackpool Combat Club’s Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli defeat the team of Orange Cassidy and NJPW’s Kazuchika Okada in the main event, although the win didn’t come without its battle scars, as on last night’s episode of Collision, Tony Schiavone revealed that Danielson had suffered a broken orbital bone during the bout. Schiavone also added that Danielson requires surgery and that he’s likely to be absent until later this year.
Whilst some fans initially believed Danielson’s injury to be part of a storyline, PWInsider have now provided an update on the situation, revealing that AEW sources have confirmed that the injury is legitimate.
“For those who have asked about whether the announced Bryan Danielson broken orbital bone was legitimate or not, we have confirmed with AEW sources that the injury is not storyline.”

Following the injury announcement, Claudio Castagnoli stated that he’ll be seeking revenge on both men responsible for injuring his stablemate, adding that he’s ready to face Kazuchika Okada in either America or Japan.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Bryan Danielson’s injury status as soon as we hear more, and we wish him all the best in his recovery.
