Following his AEW exit in December of last year and subsequent return to WWE, Tony Khan revealed that Regal had a non-compete clause in his contract, preventing him from appearing on-screen for another promotion, and thus the 55-year-old is yet to reappear on WWE television despite having been back with the company since January earlier this year.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is now reporting that Regal’s non-compete clause is “just about over,” and thus, the former Blackpool Combat Club manager is now able to appear on WWE television.
“William Regal’s non-compete as far as appearing on television for WWE is just about over.”

Since returning to WWE, Regal has served as the Vice President of Global Talent Development and is believed to be heavily involved in WWE’s talent recruitment, although its unclear as to whether he’ll now also make a return in an on-screen capacity.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on future plans for William Regal as soon as we hear more.
