STARDOM kicked off their 2024 with a PPV in the Yokohama Budokan on January 3rd with eleven matches on the show. The show features two one-night tournaments with the “Rookie of STARDOM” tournament and the “Triangle Derby II”. The Rookie tournament is the first since 2019, which Saya Kamitani was able to win. The four active Rookies from 2023 battled to find out who is the strongest Rookie of them, and it was Yuzuki, who won it by defeating HANAKO in the final. She debuted in November last year and won her only two singles victories on this show. The future will be great for the “Moon Arrow”
Unlike last year, the Triangle Derby only went for one day and it was a good decision. Seven Trios fought to win the tournament, but only one was able to end up on top. In the first match, Crazy Star & Megan fought to a time-limit draw against the top Queen’s Quest trio, which eliminates both trios. After that, Suzu & Mei announced that they would challenge AphroditE for the Goddess Tag Team Titles. With, the QQ and Megan + Crazy Star teams being eliminated, the BariBariBombers had an easy way to the final without even wrestling a single match. The total opposite of God’s Eye who defeated the two Oedo Tai trios back to back to advance to the final back to back.
Like last year, the Champions put their Artist of Stardom Championships on the line in the main event. It was a great match, and likely the match of the night, with especially Thekla and Syuri having great interactions in the finishing stretch. Syuri was able to pick up the win for her team by pinning the Toxic Spider and God’s Eye crowned themselves the new Artist of Stardom Champions and the winners of the Triangle Derby II
