There’s good news and bad news on the injury status of Seth Rollins.
This past Monday’s episode of RAW saw Seth Rollins defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. Following the bout, Rollins was visibly concerned, and reports later noted that he’d sustained an injury to his left leg during the bout.
Fightful Select have now provided an update on Rollins’ injury, revealing that whilst he told people backstage that he doesn’t think he’s sustained an ACL tear, the word within WWE is that he suffered a torn MCL and a partially torn meniscus, although the extent of the injury is yet to be revealed, with it currently being unclear as to whether he’ll require surgery.
“Fightful Select learned that as of Monday Night, Rollins told people backstage that he didn’t think he’d sustained an ACL tear. One WWE higher up we spoke to said “considering he’s powerbombed a 300 pound man on a torn ACL, we think he understands what that might feel like.” Unfortunately, the word in WWE and sources near Rollins are that he sustained a torn MCL and a partially torn meniscus. However, it is not known as of yet if he’ll require surgery, though the hope is that he can avoid it. We also aren’t sure how WWE will play things on television, or if the injury will be downplayed or embellished.”

Rollins has a history of knee problems and has wrestled through many of them in the past, although despite many backstage reportedly putting over his toughness and resolve for seeing through the match, the next steps are still unclear, with some fans fearing Rollins may have to vacate his title.
WrestleVotes provided an update of their own earlier today regarding the plans for Rollins moving forward, revealing that he’s set to address his health and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship during next Monday’s RAW.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirmed today that the plan is for Seth Rollins to face CM Punk at WrestleMania 40, although those plans now appear to be up in the air.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the injury status of Seth Rollins as soon as we hear more, and we wish him all the best in his recovery.
