There has been an update on three injured WWE superstars.
Injuries are unfortunately a huge part of stepping in a wrestling ring. At present, WWE legend Rey Mysterio is currently on the verge of making a return to the ring, while Nikita Lyons has been sidelined for some time. Plus, there has been an update on the condition of NXT talent Edris Enofe.
First commenting on the injury status of Rey Mysterio, Dave Meltzer wrote in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the 49-year-old’s return, which was originally scheduled for January, is now only a few weeks away.
“Rey Mysterio’s return now looks to be in a few weeks. He was hoping for late January but is pretty close to being ready to return”
-Dave Meltzer
On Nikkita Lyons, Meltzer notes that the NXT roster member has unfortunately suffered a setback, finding herself injured once more not long after making her return.
“Nikkita Lyons is injured again, just coming back from a injury”
-Dave Meltzer
Then, Meltzer revealed that Edris Enofe suffered a ‘serious injury’ during a tag match against Axiom and Nathan Fraser on February 6, meaning that, while he may still be on TV, he won’t be able to compete in the ring for some time.
“Edris Enofe suffered a serious injury on the 2/6 show when he and Malik Blade lost to Axiom & Nathan Frazer. He was on TV this week doing a promo but won’t be wrestling for a period of time”
-Dave Meltzer
Of course, it’s never easy when a performer gets injured, and we wish each star the best in their respective recoveries. We look forward to seeing them return to our screens when they are fully healthy once again.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on WWE’s injured stars as soon as we hear more.
