Mysterio reflects on spending time honing his craft after his heel turn.

On September 5th, 2022, at WWE’s Clash At The Castle event in Cardiff, Wales, Edge teamed with Rey Mysterio to take on The Judgement Day, with the babyface team emerging victorious. It would all come crashing down post-match however, as Dominik Mysterio lowblowed Edge before delivering a huge lariat to his father, thus turning heel in the process.

Mysterio would join The Judgement Day on the subsequent RAW, kicking off his heel run that would lead to him currently being arguably the most despised heel on the WWE roster. During a recent appearance on K100 with Konnan, Mysterio revealed that following the turn, he returned to the WWE PC in order to improve his consistency.

“The key for me was just consistency. I’ve never really been consistent with anything, and even still, to this day, I struggle with consistency. It got to a point where, after I turned on my dad, I they asked me if I was okay going to Orlando and doing the whole process of the PC because I had skipped that whole process for about two years. Me, being a team player, I was like, ‘Yup, whatever you guys need.’ Being there in Orlando helped me be more consistent because I had nothing to do in Orlando other than workout or go to the PC. I would go work out at the PC, then I would go workout with Austin Theory, and that’s who I first turned to on the road, staying consistent in the gym on the road with him, eating right. Even now, traveling with Finn, Damian, Rhea, and JD. I can’t tell you the last time we didn’t send a group text ‘Gym’ right before TV. Every time we’re on the road, we’re always at the gym. It’s something they’ve helped me with, being on the road and staying consistent.”

This upcominv Friday’s episode of SmackDown will see Mysterio team with his Judgement Day stablemate JD McDonagh to take on New Catch Republic, with the Brits set to take on Damian Priest & Finn Balor for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship this Saturday at WWE’s Elimination Chamber PLE in Perth, Australia.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Dominik Mysterio as soon as we hear more.
