Kazuchika Okada’s debut with The Young Bucks was reportedly planned for months.
Last night on AEW Dynamite, we saw the debut of Kazuchika Okada. The Rainmaker looked to be coming down to the ring to save Eddie Kingston from a two-on-one beatdown from the EVPs, but, in a shocking moment, Okada attacked Kingston and sided with The Bucks, making it clear that he was coming for the AEW Continental Crown.
On this, Dave Meltzer spoke on Wrestling Observer Radio to say that Tony Khan, Okada, and The Young Bucks had planned the debut segment for the Dynamite after Revolution for months.
“The Young Bucks segment with Okada, that has been known, not by me, but has been know by the Young Bucks and Okada and Tony Khan for literally months. It was Tony Khan’s idea to do this, a long time ago, the show after Revolution.”
-Dave Meltzer
Okada siding with The Young Bucks certainly piqued the interest of many fans watching worldwide. As last night was his first as a full time member of the All Elite Wrestling roster, it will be interesting to see how his run in the company progresses as he looks to win the Continental Crown from The Mad King Eddie Kingston.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the plans for Kazuchika Okada as soon as we hear more.
