A huge dream match could be set for AEW Dynasty.
Last night on AEW Dynamite, the show ended with a tease of Will Ospreay vs Bryan Danielson, as The American Dragon came down to the ring to have a staredown with The Aerial Assassin after his win over Kyle Fletcher. It’s a dream match wanted by fans for many years, and we now have an update on just how soon we could be getting to see the pair mix it up in an AEW ring.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has said that the match between Ospreay and Danielson could take place as early as April 21 at AEW’s newest pay-per-view Dynasty. Also, it’s noted that this is where we’ll likely see the recently debuted Kazuchika Okada take on Eddie Kingston as well as Samoa Joe vs Swerve Strickland.
“I know 100% tor sure, that match (Bryan Danielson vs Will Ospreay) is happening relatively soon. I have been told that it’s something Tony Khan has been wanting. Y’know, It’s like the dream match of all dream matches probably for him. But this match is happening. I presume it’s going to be on the St. Louis pay-per-view on April 21. And Eddie Kingston vs. Okada and Swerve vs. Joe, and probably the finals of the tag team titles tournament too.”
-Dave Meltzer
At present, AEW certainly have a stacked roster, with the recent additions of Will Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada only added significant strength to Tony Khan’s roster. This, along with the likely debut of Mercedes Mone next week at Big Business, sets the company up well for the coming weeks and months.
