The Rock is enjoying his current heel role.
When The Rock returned to SmackDown in February, it looked as if he’d be facing Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania. But, due to the backlash from fans who wanted 2024 Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes to face The Tribal Chief, plans were once again shifted and, as a result, Rock became a heel who now opposes the fans for ruining the proposed main event between he and Reigns.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmell Live, The Great One was asked about his current role in WWE, saying that his new alignment as a heel is the best.
“It is the best to go back to WWE in this ‘Rock 10.0’ version where I can become a heel and say the things that people want to say,”

Despite not getting his main event match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, Rock will still lace up his boots, standing alongside The Tribal Chief to team up against Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in the main event of night one. Squash matches aside, it will mark The Great One’s first in-ring contest since he lost to John Cena to close out WrestleMania 29.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on The Rock’s heel turn as soon as we hear more.
