Jack Perry reportedly apologised heavily to Tony Khan after being sent home from All In.
The backstage incident at Wembley Stadium between CM Punk and Jack Perry is now infamous. The altercation led to CM Punk being let go from the company, given that it was his second incident of the same nature in under 12 months, while Perry hasn’t been seen on AEW TV in over seven months. Instead, the former FTW Champion has been appearing in New Japan Pro Wrestling, with recent reports even indicating that Tony Khan is still ‘really mad’ at Perry for ultimately costing him CM Punk.
To provide the latest on the situation between Perry and AEW, Dave Meltzer has written in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the 26-year-old reaching out to Tony Khan to apologise after being sent home from Wembley, but didn’t hear back until the company made contact with him through lawyers. It’s noted that Perry’s current NJPW run is to build to an eventual AEW return.
“The way we’ve heard it, was that he was sent home after Wembley and never heard back from Khan. He apologized, kept texting him about he never meant to cause any trouble and was sorry. He did hear from the company through lawyers. Then they talked and he apologized to Khan. But he still hasn’t been brought back. What they are doing now in Japan is storyline to lead to an eventual return.”

In a move that divided many, Jack Perry joined NJPW’s House of Torture on March 6 when the group helped him progress in the first round of the New Japan Cup. He later went out of the tournament but has shown no indication of leaving the promotion and returning to AEW. As of now, it’s unclear as to how long Perry will spend in Japan before making a comeback.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Jack Perry’s AEW status as soon as we hear more.
