‘Ex-Con Dom’ looks to be set for a spell on the sidelines.
This past Monday’s episode of RAW was originally set to see Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh of The Judgement Day team up to take on Andrade & Ricochet, however Dominik would appear backstage with his arm in a sling and was pulled from the match, with Santos Escobar taking his place.
In today’s edition if the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that Mysterio is currently dealing with an elbow injury and is set to undergo surgery, although he’s set to remain as an onscreen character during his recovery.
“Dominik Mysterio also had an elbow injury. It apparently happened in a 4/15 match with Andrade and was described to us as a freak accident. He will be undergoing Tommy John surgery on his elbow which for a baseball pitcher means at least nine months out. Since he doesn’t have to throw pitches hard, his recovery time would probably be a little shorter. As of right now, the plan would be to keep him as a television character while recovering. He was off the European tour and had his arm in a sling at Raw.”

Tommy John surgery, highlighted by Meltzer as the treatment Mysterio is set to undergo, is an elbow operation that repairs the ulnar collateral ligament. As of writing, it’s unclear as to how long Mysterio is set to be away from in-ring action.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the injury status of Dominik Mysterio as soon as we hear more, and we wish him all the best in his recovery.
