Drew McIntyre will reportedly challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship in Glasgow.
At WrestleMania 40, Drew McIntyre defeated Seth Rollins to win the World Heavyweight Championship. However, his reign only lasted five minutes, as Damian Priest capitalised on CM Punk attacking ‘The Scottish Warrior’ by cashing-in his Money in the Bank contract to win the gold. Since then, McIntyre has remained focused on regaining RAW’s top prize, and, on this week’s show, the current champion allowed him a future shot at the title, and there has now been an indication as to when the Scotsman will get his championship match.
Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s believed that Damian Priest will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre at Clash at the Clash, taking place in the challengers home country of Scotland.
“The world title match with Damian Priest defending against Drew McIntyre is expected to take place at Clash at the Castle on 6/16 in Glasgow, Scotland.”

Should this happen, there’s no doubt that McIntyre will have the full support of the Scottish crowd in Glasgow, presenting WWE with an interesting dynamic to navigate. The company could give ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ a big victory in home country, or, alternatively, they could have CM Punk interfere and cost Drew his second world title match in the UK.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Drew McIntyre’s World Heavyweight Championship match as soon as we hear more.
