Darby Allin Reveals He Still Talks To Sting Every Day Following His Retirement

Sting and Darby Allin have stayed in touch following the retirement of ‘The Icon’.

‘The Icon’ would call it a career and end his massively notable tenure within the world of pro wrestling after his final match where he and Darby defeated The Young Bucks to retain and then subsequently relinquish the AEW Tag Team Championships.

Speaking recently in an interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Sting’s tag team partner, Darby, mentioned that he keeps in contact with Sting despite being unable to see him week in and week out at AEW events.

“I talk to him every week. Everything is cool. He’s an awesome guy. I’m so happy to see him ride off into the sunset and life after wrestling, enjoying the time with his family and live life. It’s awesome to see. Live life in one piece and not be in chronic pain all the time.”

Darby stood alongside Sting for the entirety of Sting’s final run between the ropes where the duo would face off against; The Young Bucks, Team Taz, FTR, The Pinnacle, and many more in AEW alone. Darby also made the trip with Sting to take part in the retirement of another certified legend of pro wrestling, that being the Great Muta’s Final “Bye Bye” where the two teamed with Muta to defeat the team of AKIRA, Hakushi & Naomichi Marufuji.

Darby Allin recently took part in AEW’s Double or Nothing PPV where he teamed with FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler), and Bryan Danielson to take on The Elite (The Young Bucks, Okada, and Jack Perry). Darby Allin was hit by a bus driven by Perry during the match but still was able to make use of the previously seen flamethrower as he torched the legs of The Elite’s Jack Perry during the match.
