WWE reportedly don’t expect Becky Lynch to sign elsewhere during her absence.

This week, the wrestling news cycle has been dominated by the contract status of Becky Lynch. The 33-year-old lost the Women’s World Championship to Liv Morgan at King & Queen of the Ring in Saudi Arabia last Saturday, and, with no developments in terms of a new deal, ‘The Man’ has today entered the world of free agency.

Per Fightful Select, it’s believed that WWE knew that Lynch would want to take time off when her contract expired before being booked to win the Women’s World Title, but still felt as if it was the right move due to having no concerns over Becky’s willingness to lose the gold in time.

“We’re told that WWE seemed aware that Lynch would look to take time off even before she won the World Title, but felt like it was a better approach for the story to have her win it. There was no concern that Becky would “do business.””

With Lynch now a free agent, speculation has started over whether she will sign elsewhere while she is out of contract. However, it doesn’t seem as if this is something WWE are worried about, with the internal belief being that she won’t commit to another company despite the large offers that are likely to come her way.

“WWE and those close to Becky aren’t expecting her to go anywhere else as things stand now, but are expecting major offers to come her way. Industry sources have long expected her to get the largest contract offers of any woman in wrestling history.”

Lynch is certain to receive heavy internet from all major wrestling companies now that she has become a free agent, although it was recently reported that she planned on taking an ‘extended absence’ from the ring before returning. As of now, it’s not clear just how long Lynch plans on spending away from wrestling, but it’ll be interesting to see when and where she pops up next.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the status of Becky Lynch as soon as we hear more.
