Berto’s WWE deal is set to expire later this year.
Contract news has almost entirely dominated the headlines over the last few weeks, and, as part of that, it came out yesterday that Angel Garza’s WWE deal will expire on August 1 of this year. This became the latest in a long list of contracts that will need re-negotiating in the coming weeks and months, but it seems as if his tag team partner is facing a very similar decision about whether or not to stay with the company.
Per Fightful Select, it’s believed that Humberto Carillo’s WWE contract is also coming up this summer. Specifically, it’s said that both Berto and Angel have contracts that expire on the same day.
“Shortly after Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp and Corey Brennan reported that Angel Garza’s WWE contract was set to expire on August 1, we were able to confirm that Humberto Carrillo’s contract is also set to expire on the same day.”

The report notes that, much like with Garza, negotiations have taken place between Carrillo and WWE, with the company already having tabled an offer to the 28-year-old. With both men having new deals ready should they choose to accept them, it’s very possible that they will opt to consider their collective future as a duo. Currently, both Angel and Humberto are part of Legado del Fantasma on SmackDown, but whether they are still with WWE after this August remains to be seen.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Humberto Carrillo’s contract status as soon as we hear more.
