The injury status of Jamie Hayter remains up in the air.
Jamie Hayter has been absent from AEW since dropping the AEW Women’s World Championship to Toni Storm at Double or Nothing last year, with multiple reports having since revealed that Hayter was working through an injury and was subsequently sidelined indefinitely.
With many wondering about her status, Fightful Select have now provided an update on Hayter, noting that outside of showing up for physicals backstage at a Dynamite show in recent months, things have largely been silent regarding her recovery.
“There have been a ton of inquiries and requests for update on Jamie Hayter’s status, and for the better part of a year, things were completely silent outside of Hayter coming. However, Fightful Select learned that Hayter was at an AEW Dynamite show in recent months when the roster had to show up for physicals. The feeling inside the company that there had been some positive movement towards a potential recovery for Hayter. However, we’re not told where that stands as of right now, as her injury was a very serious one. When we asked within AEW they did say that her appearance there was the most positive news towards a possible return that they’ve heard since she’s been sidelined, even though numerous talent who were off TV had to show up for those physicals.”

Additionally, Fightful added that AEW talent that they’d spoken to said they haven’t heard much of anything about Hayter of late. They did note that her being backstage is not a regular occurrence these days, with talent apparently not seeing her or hearing anything on her status since. Hayter is also said to be keeping to herself and focusing on her recovery, which likely explains the general silence around her status.
Fightful closed their report with a summary of everything they’d heard on Haytwr thus far, revealing that there have at least been discussions about a potential return this year, and that matches involving the former AEW Women’s World Champion had been pitched to talent.
“To sum it up, last year, the line of thinking was there were no timetables, plans, or even general outlines. There was at least discussion on the possibility of her return this year. Perhaps the most promising element of this was that there have been talent that have had matches pitched to them involving Hayter in the event she returns. Thus far, those that we’ve spoken to close to her and AEW are confident that a return is in the cards.”

Hayter was forced to miss last year’s AEW All In at Wembley Stadium in London, England, and with the second instalment of the event just a month away, it appears likely that the UK-native will be absent from the show for a second year running.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the status of Jamie Hayter as soon as we hear more.
