Miro reportedly wants out of All Elite Wrestling.

Having signed for AEW in 2020, Miro is a former TNT Champion and currently holds the record for the longest reign with the title at 140 days. However, he hasn’t been seen in an AEW ring since Worlds End 2023 last December, and it now appears as if he’s keen to leave All Elite Wrestling.

Per Fightful Select, it’s believed that Miro has requested his release from AEW, although, as of yet, it’s unclear whether the request has been granted.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has learned that Miro, formerly Rusev, has asked for his release from All Elite Wrestling.”

The report goes on to note that, while he was initially sidelined longer than expected, Miro has been healthy for some time, with there even being ideas floated around for him. Internally, it was wondered whether he’d have involvement in the Casino Gauntlet match at All In, and the 38-year-old himself is believed to have pitched working with Jon Moxley, although this didn’t come to be.

Should the departure happen, many fans will have questions regarding whether WWE have interest in the man formerly known as Rusev. On this, Fightful note that this is unknown at this stage, and that Miro signed a deal with AEW in 2022 that runs until Spring 2026.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Miro requesting his release from AEW as soon as we hear more.
