AJ Styles may not have long left on his deal.

Earlier this year, AJ Styles became the first man to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship, competing for the gold at Backlash in France and Castle At The Castle. However, since his unsuccessful challenge for the title in Glasgow, Styles hasn’t been seen on WWE TV, and now an update has emerged on his future.

Per Fightful Select, some within the industry reportedly believe that AJ Styles’ WWE deal could be up either before the end of this year or early next year.

“Those within the industry that Fightful spoke with are of the belief that AJ Styles’ WWE contract is up either late this year or early next year.”

The report goes on to note that it’s currently unclear whether WWE have made any moves to re-sign ‘The Phenomenal One’, with the situation certainly being one to keep an eye on in the coming weeks and months. Of course, there will be many options open to Styles should he consider leaving WWE, but, with no official word on his status, little is currently known about his future.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on AJ Styles’ contract status as soon as we hear more.
