Kenny Omega wants to team up with ‘The Ace’.
It’s been around 10 months since Kenny Omega was sidelined with diverticulitis, and questions still remain over his in-ring future. However, when The Elite attacked Omega in an angle on the May 1 edition of Dynamite, many began to wonder whether a feud with his former group could be revisited should he be able to return to the ring. Now, it appears this is something ‘The Cleaner’ would be interested in.
Talking to NJPW, Omega was asked at possibly competing at Wrestle Dynasty. Here, he revealed that, if he was able to make his return, he’d have his mind set on revenge against The Young Bucks for their attack five months ago, saying he’d want to team with ‘The Ace’ and NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi to take on Matt and Nick Jackson.
‘First priority is making my return, but if I can come back, I do want to face the Bucks. I want revenge, but more importantly, I want to do it the right way. The first time Tanahashi and I wrestled, it was for the belt, and then in 2019 it was a lot on the line for the both of us. Now, with the two of us aligned, next time we wrestle, I’d want to do it together. I’ve been a bad guy for a lot of my time, especially in AEW. I cheated to win the AEW title. I don’t want that to be the memory of myself that stays with young fans. If Tanahashi and I meet in that ring again, I’d want to do it as his partner.’

Of course, there remains no official word on when or even if Kenny Omega will be back in the ring, but, as the Canadian was recently seen partaking in a general training session alongside Kota Ibushi on Instagram, some are optimistic that an eventual comeback for Omega could be in the works.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future plans for Kenny Omega as soon as we hear more.
