Chris Jericho reportedly wanted Jushin Thunder Liger to wrestle on his cruise.

On January 31, the next edition of Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager At Sea will begin, taking place until February 4. Guests on the cruise include the legendary Jushin Thunder Liger, with a new update suggesting that the idea was put to the masked icon of potentially getting back in the ring.

Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Chris Jericho is believed to have asked Jushin Thunder Liger to wrestle on his upcoming cruise, however the 59-year-old is said to have turned it down, claiming he was too old to take it on.

The next Chris Jericho Cruise is 1/31 to 2/4 with the major guests being Jushin Liger, Scott Steiner and Jerry Lawler. Jericho asked Liger to do one last match but Liger, 59 turned him down saying he was too old.”

Liger has not wrestled since 2020, when he teamed with Naoki Sano in a losing effort against Hiromu Takahashi and Ryu Lee at Wrestle Kingdom 14. After turning down a return to competition, it’s unlikely that the former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion will ever compete in the future.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Chris Jericho wanting Jushin Thunder Liger to wrestle on his cruise as soon as we hear more.
