John Cena may look to break Ric Flair’s record at WrestleMania 41.
At Money in the Bank 2024, John Cena announced his plans for a retirement tour which will culminate at the end of next year, and, with just over months left of his in-ring career, fans have been wondering what might still be in store for Cena before he hangs up his boots. Now, it’s been suggested that he could be in line for a major title match, potentially at WrestleMania 41.
Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s believed that there’s been strong talk of Cena challenging for one of WWE’s world championships as part of his retirement tour, with it possible it could take place at WrestleMania.
“We do know that the idea of Cena challenging one of the two champions, in an effort to have him break Flair’s record is something strongly talked about, including for Mania.”

The idea of John Cena breaking Ric Flair’s record to become a 17-time world champion has been heavily debated among fans, and it may not be long before Cena is given the opportunity to make history. However, as of yet, the plans for WrestleMania 41 is unclear, and anything could change between now and next April.
