Penta may soon be leaving AEW.
Throughout the summer, reports circulated indicating that The Lucha Brothers could both be leaving AEW when their contracts were up, however due to factors such as added injury time, it was unclear when exactly either man would become a free agent. Now, it seems as if it may not be long before Penta departs AEW.
Per Fightful Select, it’s believed that Penta’s AEW contract will be up next week, with the 39-year-old expected to enter the free agent market.
“Fightful Select has learned that word within All Elite Wrestling is that Penta’s deal will be up next week, and he’ll effectively become a free agent, barring some unforeseen changes.”

Of course, following the recent rumours, it’s likely WWE will have interest in Penta should be reach free agency, however nothing official has emerged on a possible move just yet, and it’s also noted that many indie promotions would be looking to book the Mexican star should it become possible.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Penta as soon as we hear more.
