‘The Cleaner’ could return to AEW by December 28.

After being sidelined for over a year with diverticulitis, Kenny Omega will make his return to the wrestling ring on January 5 when he battles Gabe Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty. For many, it was a surprise to see the 41-year-old announce his comeback match for New Japan rather than AEW, however, after a vignette teasing his return aired on last night’s Dynamite, it now seems as if it may not be long before Omega re-emerges in the company in which he remains an EVP.

Per Fightful Select, it’s believed that Omega’s return to All Elite Wrestling could happen by World End which takes place in just eight days.

“On December 18, a vignette aired promoting his upcoming return. Those within the company and near Omega have claimed that it’s been discussed as happening by the December 28 World’s End PPV. However, we’ve not learned in what capacity.”

The last time we saw Omega in AEW was when he came face to face with his longtime rival Kazuchika Okada before being attacked by The Elite. Should he soon find himself back as an active member of the company’s roster, it’ll be interesting to see how they play off his last appearance and his EVP status moving forward.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Kenny Omega’s return to AEW as soon as we hear more.
