The latest reported updates on Drew McIntyre’s frustration following the Royal Rumble have been released.
Shortly following the Royal Rumble, headlines were made when it emerged that Drew McIntyre had stormed out of the building before the end of the main event. The Scotsman entered at 17 in the men’s rumble and was subsequently eliminated by Damian Priest and his it later came out that McIntyre was very frustrated with how things went down. Since the show, more has been reported regarding the situation
First, PWInsider broke the news of McIntyre’s frustration with the news that Drew was believed to be screaming and cursing at another wrestler’s performance in the match before storming out of the building.
“Something went wrong with Drew McIntyre’s elimination from the Men’s Rumble. When McIntyre returned to the back, he was “screaming and cursing” that “someone had to get their moves in” at the expense of a number of stories in the match. We are told McIntyre pretty loudly stormed out of the building and was gone well before the Rumble match ended.”

Initially, who McIntyre was particularly angry at wasn’t known. However, in an update from Fightful Select, it’s believed that indications seem to suggest the frustration was on LA Knight.
“Specifically McIntyre was cursing about someone “having to get their moves in.” A number of other talent have reached out to say they agreed with McIntyre, and indicated the frustration was on LA Knight. Originally Priest was to eliminate Drew McIntyre before Logan Paul’s entrance.”

Lastly, a notable report came out from MailSport, it was said that McIntyre is believed to be unhappy over his WrestleMania direction, thinking that a match with Damian Priest – which his rumble elimination was done to facilitate – isn’t a prominent enough spot for him after the year he had in 2024.
“McIntyre is due for a programme with Damian Priest heading into WrestleMania – a bout described by a source as a ‘nothing match’. McIntyre is of the opinion that he deserves a more prominent feud after the most successful year of his career in 2024.”
-MailSport
As yet, it’s unclear as to whether McIntyre vs Priest will remain the plan for WrestleMania 41, or whether the incident will have any knock-on effects to Friday Night SmackDown, but many will be intrigued to see how things play out in the coming weeks.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Drew McIntyre’s frustration following the Royal Rumble as soon as we hear more.
