Here’s the latest on Drew McIntyre’s WWE status following his abrupt Royal Rumble exit.
Following Saturday’s Royal Rumble Premium Live Event, it emerged that Drew McIntyre had stormed out of the building following his elimination from the men’s rumble match. It was believed that McIntyre was angry at another wrestler who he believes was trying to ‘get their moves in’ at the expense of the match, as well as having overall frustration regarding the plans for him to wrestle Damian Priest at WrestleMania. Now, following his absence from WWE RAW on Monday, an update has emerged on the situation between McIntyre and the company.
Per PWInsider, it’s believed that Drew McIntyre and WWE have been in regular communication since the Royal Rumble and that the Scotsman will be at tonight’s SmackDown.
“Several WWE sources indicate they believe Drew McIntyre will be at tonight’s Smackdown taping in Memphis, TN. McIntyre was not at Raw this past Monday but the two sides have been in regular communication since he stormed out of The Royal Rumble.”

It’s noted that McIntyre’s official move to the blue brand could be confirmed tonight, and, with Damian Priest having also been recently moved to SmackDown, WWE may still opt to have the pair clash at WrestleMania 41.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Drew McIntyre’s recent frustration with WWE as soon as we hear more.
