Tony Khan reportedly thinks Ricky Saints went to WWE due to his connection with Cody Rhodes.
On the February 11 edition of NXT, Ricky Saints (FKA Starks) made his WWE debut by appearing in the crowd and promising to turn the brand upside down. The 35-year-old arrived just a day after his All Elite Wrestling departure was confirmed and now we have an indication as to what Tony Khan believes to be the reason that the former FTW Champion chose to leave the company.
Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s believed that Tony Khan is of the opinion that Ricky chose to leave AEW due to his pre-existing connection with Cody Rhodes.
“What I can say about this one is that Khan believed that due to the connection with Rhodes, he was leaving.”

While he was with AEW, Saints made headlines by travelling to the 2023 Royal Rumble to visit Cody Rhodes backstage. The former AEW World Tag Team Champion was also in attendance at WrestleMania 40 when ‘The American Nightmare’ got his hands on the Undisputed WWE Championship.
