JD McDonagh reveals what led up to him joining Judgment Day.

In November 2023, Damian Priest officially endorsed JD McDonagh as a member of The Judgment Day. The faction has since undergone major transformation, with Priest and Rhea Ripley being removed from the group last summer, but McDonagh’s presence has remained since he joined 18 months ago. Now, he’s shed some light on what led up to him aligning with the team.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, McDonagh recalled being told about possibly interacting with The Judgment Day and seeing how the fans responded to it.

“I was just told when I came up to the main roster we’re gonna have you brush off Judgment Day, and that’ll be the way that we introduce you, and we’ll see what way the fans take it. There was the link there between me and Finn that we could work with, but I don’t think there was [a plan of] we’re bringing JD from NXT, and we’ve got this spot in Judgment Day for him. I think it was just kind of that was the in for me. I had good chemistry with most of the group, all of the group really, to be honest, and it just seemed like a good fit. And I ended up getting inducted by Priest.”

McDonagh is currently out injured, having suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung in a match against The War Raiders in January. As yet, his return date is unclear and we continue to wish him well on the road to recovery and journey back to the ring.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on JD McDonagh as soon as we hear more.
