Roman Reigns still has a few weeks before Hollywood comes calling.

This past Monday’s episode of RAW saw the new World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and his stablemates Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed standing tall over Roman Reigns, prompting fans to speculate that he had been written off television ahead of filming for the upcoming ‘Street Fighter’ film.

Despite that speculation, PWInsider have now provided an update, reporting that Hollywood sources claim that production for the film isn’t set to begin until September, at which point Reigns will be on set for four weeks.

“In speaking with Hollywood sources, The Street Fighter film does not begin production until September and Reigns is slated to work for four weeks on the set, starting on 9/2. As long as the production runs on time, we are told Reigns would finish his commitments the week of 9/26. So, there’s still some time for Reigns to make additional appearances if WWE creative dictates before he’s needed for filming.”

Reigns is reportedly playing the character of Akuma in the film, whilst his long-time WWE rival Cody Rhodes is also reported to feature as Guile.

Regarding Rhodes, the report adds that he is not expected to be on set for as long as Reigns.

Professional wrestling representation in ‘Street Fighter’ reportedly extends beyond WWE, with Fightful Select having previously noted that sources claim former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Hirooki Goto is playing E Honda in the film.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the production schedule for ‘Street Fighter’ and how this may affect the schedule of the aforementioned talent as soon as we hear more.
