MJF no longer has three thumbs up from The Hurt Syndicate.
On the July 30th edition of AEW Dynamite, Shelton Benjamin informed MJF that he was no longer a member of The Hurt Syndicate, with many fans surprised that angle came to such a sudden end.
In today’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the angle was indeed supposed to last for longer than it did, although the decision to remove MJF from the group did not come from MVP, but another Hurt Syndicate member.
“It was also said that the alliance with MJF and the Hurt Syndicate was supposed to last much longer. That was not an MVP request but supposedly from another member of the group so that’s why the angle was just cut off so quickly.”

With MJF out of the group, his sights are now set on Hangman Page and the AEW World Championship, although MVP made it clear this past Wednesday that Bobby Lashley would be coming for him if he’s successful in regaining the gold.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on MJF’s departure from The Hurt Syndicate as soon as we hear more.
