John Cena believes Logan Paul is a great fit for WWE.
At WWE Clash In Paris on August 31, John Cena will take on Logan Paul as part of the 48-year-old’s retirement tour. With limited dates left before the 17-time world champion hangs up his boots, it’s safe to say that many fans are frustrated that it’s the social media star who is set to stand across the ring from the legend at the end of this month. However, it seems as if Cena is actually a big fan of his upcoming opponent.
Speaking at Fan Expo Chicago, Cena first acknowledged that, while Paul is dangerous in the ring, he isn’t particularly liked among fans.
“I’ve always been one of those guys you don’t have to like. You can hate me if you want. But I’d like to think I’ve earned people’s respect. So what I’m about to say might not be the answer you’re looking for, but hopefully you’ll respect it. Do I think Logan Paul can beat me up? Yes. I think he’s got a very good chance because he’s really good at WWE. I know a lot of people in this room don’t like him. He’s not a very likeable guy.”

Then, when a fan said that Logan Paul was ‘overrated’, John Cena was quick to disagree, saying the 30-year-old belongs in WWE.
“I disagree, I think he’s underrated. I think he gets a bad rap. He’s not an outsider, he belongs in WWE. I think his best days are still ahead of him, he’s got championships in his future. I can tell you I’m not looking past Logan Paul, and I’m not believing any of the hype that he’s an outsider who should be taken lightly. I’m training hard. Cody Rhodes brought out the best in me at SummerSlam, he reignited a fire in me, and I know I’ve got a very tough opponent in Logan Paul. So do I think he can beat me up? Yes. Will he have to earn every inch? Absolutely.”

Clash In Paris won’t be the first time that Logan Paul has played into Cena’s retirement tour, as the pair teamed together at Money in the Bank to battle Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes. The duo didn’t win back in June, but their team showed Cena’s eagerness to work with Paul before the curtain falls on his career.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on John Cena ahead of his match with Logan Paul as soon as we hear more.
