
HBK is proud of the progress the brand has made in the last year.
Following a Hall of Fame in-ring career, Shawn Michaels now finds himself working behind-the-scenes as the Senior Vice President of Talent Development and Creative at WWE, where he oversees NXT.
Ahead of this past Sunday’s NXT Heatwave event, Michaels spoke with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, during which he touted the brand’s successful partnerships but noted that it’s the WWE PC talent that make brand the best two-hour wrestling show on TV.
“I’d be lying if I didn’t think we have the best two-hour show on television. The most exciting. The partnership with The CW is huge. They’ve been fantastic. We’ve had collaborations like NOAH, TNA, and AAA, but all our success comes down to the athletes that walk through the doors of the Performance Center every day in Orlando. It’s a testament to all the work that our coaches and our creative team and the entire production team in NXT.”

This past Sunday’s NXT Heatwave saw Oba Femi retain the NXT Championship against Je’Von Evans, whilst Ash by Elegance captured the TNA Knockouts World Championship in a triple threat match with Jacy Jayne and Masha Slamovich.
As for what’s next for the NXT brand, all attention now turns to their return to Full Sail for NXT Homecoming on September 16th.
