Bandido has discussed his comeback from injury and teaming with Brody King.
In February, Bandido wrestled for the first time in over 18 months, having been kept out of action due to a wrist injury. Thankfully, since returning to competition, the 30-year-old has gone from strength to strength in the ring, currently holding both the ROH World Championship and being a co-holder of the AEW World Tag Team Titles. Now, he’s addressed his comeback from injury and his wildly popular team with Brody King.
Speaking to Haley Miller of VICE, Bandido commented on his big injury setback by saying that everything has a purpose.
“Well, well, you know, that was very hard for me. I thought… it will be like just six months. After my first surgery, they say, ‘Hey, your wrist is not good. We need to restart everything.’ So I feel very bad about it. But now I know that everything has a purpose, you know?”

Then, the ROH World Champion enthusiastically discussed his tag team with Brody King, calling it an amazing combination.
“That feels unbelievable. You know, it’s amazing. It’s crazy for me and for Brody too; we are very happy. We have eight years, nine years now, we know each other. So when somebody say, ‘Hey, you’re gonna be with Brody,’ I told him, ‘Hey, this is our opportunity to show all the people how our relation is together.’ It’s crazy. It’s amazing! That’s amazing. I’m telling all the people who ask me, the rap people, heavy people, [they] love Bandido, and all the Mexican people love Brody. It’s fantastic and I’m grateful and I just say thank you to everybody because this [is an] amazing combination and our styles — he knows some lucha styles, so it’s fabulous. He helps me a lot.”

After Brodido successfully captured the AEW World Tag Team Championships at Forbidden Door, Bandido followed up by successfully defending his ROH World Championship against Hechicero at Death Before Dishonor. Given his incredible match catalogue since returning to the ring, many fans would argue that the AEW star has a strong case for wrestler of the year so far.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Bandido as soon as we hear more.
