An update has emerged on when Will Ospreay is set to undergo neck surgery.

Back in July, Will Ospreay appeared live on Dynamite to reveal herniated discs in his back that were impacting his spinal cord. As a result of the damage, the Brit disclosed that he’d have to undergo neck surgery in the near future, despite sticking around to compete at AEW Forbidden Door in August. Following the post-match attack at the O2 Arena that wrote him off TV for the foreseeable future, there’s now been an update on when ‘The Aerial Assassin’ is set for treatment.

Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s believed that Will Ospreay’s neck surgery will be in a few weeks.

Despite being taken out after the match, Ospreay’s team was able to capture a win at Forbidden Door, meaning the 32-year-old was able to end his run on a high. As of now, there’s no indication as to how long the former International Champion will spend on the sidelines, but his presence will certainly be missed in AEW and it goes without saying that we wish him all the best for his recovery.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Will Ospreay’s injury status as soon as we hear more.
