Wade Barrett has clarified his WWE RAW status.

Earlier today, PWInsider Elite reported that Wade Barrett had been taken off the road and wouldn’t be behind the RAW commentary desk for the foreseeable future. From there, speculation mounted over his future with the company, particularly following the recent tension between the commentator and Nikki Bella coming out of Clash In Paris. However, with it made clear that things had been smoothed over between the two, Barrett has now clarified the situation when it comes to his status on commentary.

On his X account, Wade Barrett has revealed that WWE have given him time off which was booked nine months ago. As for his future, the Brit confirmed he’d be returning to business as usual once he’s back.

This will come as good news to those not wanting to see Barrett step away from the RAW commentary desk for an extended period of time. In his absence, it’s possible that SmackDown’s announce team of Michael Cole and Corey Graves may be calling the action on Monday nights, but it seems any lineup without Barrett would just be a temporary measure.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Wade Barrett as soon as we hear more.
