Wardlow has unfortunately sustained an injury.

At AEW Forbidden Door, while Swerve Strickland’s foot was lodged between the steel steps and ring post, Wardlow made his shocking return to AEW. Attacking Prince Nana and taking out security guards, the former TNT Champion aligned himself with the Don Callis Family and looked to be building momentum for his next run. However, it now appears that he’s unfortunately been sidelined once more.

Per Fightful Select, it’s believed that Wardlow has sustained an injury shortly after his recent AEW roster, with the fear being that it may be a torn pectoral.

Fightful Select has learned that Wardlow has sustained an injury almost immediately after returning from a year-plus absence. Sources in AEW that we spoke to said that the injury is feared to be a torn pectoral muscle, which would sideline him for quite some time.”

While this is a major blow for both Wardlow and the AEW roster, it’s possible that the company could still use him as part of the Don Callis Family in a way that doesn’t require him to wrestle as he continues his recovery. Of course, we wish him all the best and look forward to seeing him back in the ring as soon as he’s medically able.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Wardlow’s injury status as soon as we hear more.
