Saudi Arabia is set to host WrestleMania 43 in 2027, and WWE are building their next marquee event in preparation.
On September 12th, WWE announced that WrestleMania 43 would be heading to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2027, with the announcement following the Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, Turki Alalshikh, revealing the news on Snapchat earlier in the week.
The announcement, which took place in Las Vegas ahead of the Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford boxing fight that TKO is promoting this weekend, put to rest speculation that WWE would simply hold a “WrestleMania branded” event in Saudi Arabia as opposed to the show itself, with Fightful Select now reporting that Saudi Arabia pushed to host WrestleMania itself.
“There was word earlier this year of WWE attempting to do “WrestleMania branded” events in Saudi Arabia, while still doing a WrestleMania event in North America. We’re told by sources connected to the Saudi shows that the government made it clear they wanted an actual WrestleMania. WWE sources also suggested that this is why WWE has gone so hard in promoting WrestlePalooza as a huge event out of the gate, and plan to moving forward.”

Fightful Select additionally revealed multiple details about the announcement itself, one of which being that media and the public were not permitted at the press conference, whilst most WWE staff members were not outright told what the announcement itself was ahead of time.
The press conference itself featured Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, Turki Alalshikh, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Seth Rollins, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, Logan Paul, Liv Morgan, and Stephanie Vaquer, underlining WWE’s commitment to bring their biggest stars to Riyadh when WrestleMania 43 rolls around in 2027.
In terms of Wrestlepalooza, the show’s first outing under the WWE banner is set to take place on September 20th in Indianapolis, with John Cena vs Brock Lesnar reportedly set to close the show, whilst AJ Lee makes her highly anticipated in-ring return at the event as she teams with CM Punk to take on Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch.
Elsewhere within the report, Fightful Select shot down claims that both The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin had been approached to compete at the show. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on plans for WrestleMania 43 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as soon as we hear more.
