WWE’s expansion into global markets continues.

In recent years, WWE has stepped up its push to attract a broader global audience by staging Premium Live Events in diverse locations, with stops in the United Kingdom, Paris, Germany, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, and Australia.

It now appears as though Italy could be set to join that list, with SportBusiness reporting that during their chat with Nick Khan at the IMG x RedBird Summit, the WWE President revealed that Italy will be hosting a Premium Live Event in ‘early’ 2026, adding the following:

“Almost half of our Premium Live Events take place outside of the United States now. We believe WWE is a global property, we believe the results on these shows, both in terms of attendance and viewership (locally and globally) have been significant. We have seen year-over-year increases for viewership on each one.”

The report notes that the PLE will coincide with Italy joining Netflix’s WWE streaming deal, marking the end of Warner Bros. Discovery acting as the company’s broadcast partner in the country.

WWE’s most recent trip to Italy came earlier this year in March for an episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Bologna at the Unipol Arena, though the host city for the company’s return to the country is yet to be revealed.

In addition to WWE heading to Italy, recent reports also indicated that the company is discussing holding a PLE in China, with Hong Kong mooted as a potential location. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on plans for Italy to host a WWE Premium Live Event in 2026 as soon as we hear more.
