The former NXT Women’s Champion could be on her way back to WWE in a new role.
This past Tuesday’s NXT Homecoming featured Shayna Baszler making a surprise appearance in a backstage segment, encouraging Sol Ruca and Zaria to get back on the same page as a tag team.
According to Dave Meltzer within the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE expect and hope that she’ll return to the company as either a coach or producer though nothing is confirmed as of yet.
“Regarding Baszler, those in the company said that they expect and hopes she take a coaching or producing position. At this point, nothing is in place and it was just a one-off thing this week.”

Baszler was informed on May 2nd earlier this year that her WWE contract would not be extended, with July 31st officially marking the end of her eight-year tenure with the company.
Despite no longer being with WWE, Baszler was reportedly listed as a producer for the July 9th edition of NXT, although the former NXT Women’s Champion has also publicly kept the door open to potentially joining AEW.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Shayna Baszler’s future as soon as we hear more.
