The Real Latino Man is back.
At AEW Dynamite’s 6 Year Anniversary show on October 1, Andrade made his return by attacking Kenny Omega after his tag team win with Brodido over The Young Bucks and Josh Alexander, before aligning himself with the Don Callis Family.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that AEW brought Andrade back to strengthen its presence on FOX Sports Mexico and expand its reach in Mexico overall, with the company eager to showcase another top Hispanic star.
“As for Andrade, a big part of bringing him in is wanting another Hispanic star to help build the company up in Mexico and on Fox Sports Mexico, since he has a big name in that country.”
-Dave Meltzer
Andrade’s WWE departure on September 13 and subsequent AEW return makes him the first wrestler to go from WWE to AEW, back to WWE, and then return to AEW once again. Reports suggest his WWE release stemmed from multiple wellness policy violations, which you can read more about here.
Elsewhere in the Observer Newsletter, Meltzer noted that Kenny Omega was originally set to challenge TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher at AEW: WrestleDream, but those plans were scrapped as Omega is not at 100%. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on future plans for Andrade following his AEW return as soon as we hear more.
