WWE’s partnership with TNA has opened the door to a return.

Before joining WWE earlier this year, Penta built his name across several major promotions, including AEW, AAA, Lucha Underground, and Impact Wrestling, which has since reverted to its TNA Wrestling name.

Appearing on the latest episode of the Battleground Podcast, Penta was asked about his history with TNA Wrestling and if he could see himself making a return to the promotion through their partnership with WWE.

“Why not, man? I’m open for everything. I come to WWE to conquer everything, no matter what. No matter if it’s NXT Championships, no matter if it’s AAA, no matter if it’s TNA, no matter nothing. Right now, my purpose, I am focused on two things. Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship and WrestleMania 42. Penta is open. I want to show to the world who is the real Penta because Penta is violence, passion, aggressive. At the same time, Penta come from nothing and when you come from nothing, you lose nothing. This is my mentality every day.”

Penta’s last appearance in a TNA ring came in April 2019, when he fell short to Michael Elgin in an Impact World Championship No. 1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match that also featured Johnny Impact.

NXT vs. TNA Showdown is set to take place on October 7, and whilst Penta is not set to be involved at the event, it’s likely that the door will remain open for the former Impact World Champion to make appearances in TNA down the line.

Elsewhere during his appearance on the podcast, Penta discussed the prospect of reuniting with Rey Fenix as The Lucha Bros in WWE. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the possibility of Penta returning to TNA Wrestling as soon as we hear more.
