The former Mariah May is eyeing up a future clash with Liv Morgan.

After departing All Elite Wrestling in May, Blake Monroe made a surprise debut on NXT on June 3. She later made her in-ring debut at The Great American Bash on July 12, teaming with Jordynne Grace to defeat Fatal Influence, though she has since turned her back on the former TNA star.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Monroe was asked to name her dream opponents in WWE. The former AEW Women’s World Champion named Liv Morgan as someone she believes she could tell a compelling story with.

“I see a lot of myself in Liv. I feel like she was very underrated for her in-ring and she’s good, but when she found her character and she found her feet… I mean, she was having the run of a lifetime before she got hurt and I’m sure she’s gonna pick back up where she left off. But I see—I don’t know, I feel like I see similarities there and I feel like there could be a really good story.”

Monroe also mentioned fellow NXT stars Sol Ruca and Tatum Paxley as potential opponents she’d like to face, while noting that a clash of personalities with Rhea Ripley is another matchup she’s particularly keen on.

Elsewhere in the interview, Monroe was asked whether she wished she could have kept her previous ring name, Mariah May, upon joining WWE. You can read more about that here.

Whilst many expected Monroe to join WWE following her AEW departure, she revealed during the interview that she also gave serious thought to returning to Japan. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on future plans for Blake Monroe as soon as we hear more.
