The former WWE Women’s Champion is a big fan of Stephanie Vaquer.

At WWE’s Wrestlepalooza on September 20 in Indianapolis, Stephanie Vaquer defeated IYO SKY to claim the vacant Women’s World Championship, in a bout widely praised as the standout match of the night.

In an interview with The Japan Times ahead of WWE’s return to Japan next week, IYO SKY lavished praise on Stephanie Vaquer, suggesting the two could form an intriguing tag team in the future.

“Stephanie is an incredible wrestler, not only skilled in South American style but also with ample experience wrestling in Japan. We matched well, so it was fun to wrestle her. In the WWE Women’s Division, there are several wrestlers, like Bianca and Rhea, who I feel can help us improve each time we wrestle — and she is definitely one of them. I think we could do some interesting things if we teamed up someday.”

Stephanie Vaquer is scheduled to take on WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton for the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship at Crown Jewel: Perth in Australia on October 11.

IYO SKY is set to team with Rhea Ripley to face The Kabuki Warriors at the event, following Asuka and Kairi Sane’s recent betrayal of their former ally.

WWE SuperShow Japan is set for October 17–18 at Tokyo’s Ryogoku Kokugikan, featuring IYO SKY, The Kabuki Warriors, Giulia, Shinsuke Nakamura, CM Punk, The Vision, and more.

Elsewhere during the interview, SKY labelled her WrestleMania 41 victory over Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair as the greatest moment of her life. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on future plans for both IYO SKY and Stephanie Vaquer as soon as we hear more.
