‘The Final Boss’ says he has a small influence in choosing John Cena’s last match.

Since the start of the year, John Cena has been on his retirement tour with WWE, with just four dates left before the legend hangs up his boots. Attention has now firmly turned to who he’ll be sharing the ring with in his final appearance, and, after playing a key part in the 17-time world champion’s shocking heel turn in February, ‘The Final Boss’ has shed some light on whether he has a say on John Cena’s final match.

Speaking on New Heights, The Rock discussed having a tiny say in Cena’s last match.

“I have a tiny bit of influence in the booking of it, but really it’s whoever John wants. That’s what it comes down to. Whoever he wants. That should be who it is. It’s not me, Nick Khan, or Triple H. It’s whoever John wants. That guy has earned it. The best part about John is that he comes as advertised. Who you think he is, that’s who he is. He’s a good dude, and I love that guy.”

As yet, WWE hasn’t officially announced who John Cena’s final opponent will be. However, it has been reported that a former World Heavyweight Champion could be in line for Cena’s retirement match. You can read more about that here.

As for The Rock, the 53-year-old is yet to make an appearance in WWE since Elimination Chamber 2025. On this, John Cena Sr. recently said his son’s heel turn was ‘destroyed’ by ‘The Great One’ being absent. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on John Cena’s last match as soon as we hear more.
