A rumour killer has been released on WWE possibly bringing back Andrade.
After his stunning return to AEW on October 2, it emerged Andrade was subject to a non-compete clause from WWE, with later reports even suggesting that the former United States Champion could be kept out of the ring for up to a year due to the breach of contract. From that, rumours circulated last week that WWE could be looking to bring Andrade back to the company, using his one-year non-compete as leverage against him. However, it now appears that isn’t the case.
In this week’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote that ideas of Andrade going back to WWE are wide of the mark.
“For what this is worth, according to those in WWE, the rumors from last week that WWE is looking to now bring him back aren’t true. One person near the top who would likely know (although there are lots of secrets) said that he had never heard the name discussed. Another who would have to know said the story wasn’t true.”

As it stands, it’s unclear how long Andrade is set to spend on the sidelines as a result of his non-compete clause. The 35-year-old has had to pull out of appearances for companies such as Mucha Lucha Atlanta and The Crash.
When returning to AEW, Andrade aligned himself with Don Callis and attacked Kenny Omega, though it emerged shortly afterwards that the company’s announcers had been told not to acknowledge the angle moving forward. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Andrade’s future as soon as we hear more.
