Will Ospreay is reportedly still a long way from returning.

Having undergone successful neck surgery in mid-September, Will Ospreay recently began a lengthy spell on the sidelines. However, after the Body Alignment Clinic’s recent Instagram post featuring Ospreay was captioned with ‘Jan 2026’, speculation mounted over whether this was hinting at a possible timeframe for his return to wrestling. Now, we know that isn’t the case.

According to Wrestling Observer’s latest Daily Update, it’s believed the January 2026 timeframe was more in relation to Ospreay resuming light weight training, as the Brit is still a long way from returning to the ring.

Regarding Will Ospreay, some people brought up to me from a social media post thinking he would be back in January. That is not the case. He is hopeful of being able to start light weight workouts in January. He is a long way away from returning.”

AEW fans last saw Will Ospreay at Forbidden Door, where he was on the receiving end of a post-match beatdown from The Death Riders. In the weeks leading up to August 24, ‘The Aerial Assassin’ had been honest about having herniated discs in his back that were impacting his spinal cord. The former International Champion is set for a long road to recovery and there’s currently no timeframe for his in-ring return.

Of course, we wish Ospreay the best with his recovery and look forward to seeing him back when he’s medically able to return.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Will Ospreay’s injury status as soon as we hear more.
