Andrade’s non-compete clause may be worldwide.

Earlier this week, it was reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Andrade had left The Crash XIV Aniversario event early on November 7. During the show, it was noted his non-compete clause was only active in the United States, however it now seems there’s those who think that isn’t the case.

Providing an update on the situation, Dave Meltzer wrote in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Andrade’s non-compete clause is believed by some to be worldwide, rather than just applying to the United States.

Andrade was announced for the show. He did the meet and greet but wasn’t on the show itself. There was a report that he left unhappy after the meet and greet but also claims he wasn’t wrestling on the show so there was no reason to stay for the show. There are those now claiming that his non-compete is worldwide and not just for the United States.”

This would add up as to why Andrade hasn’t competed in Mexico or Japan since leaving WWE, though, if past reports as to be believed, the clause being worldwide indicates the star could be kept out of the ring entirely for up to a year. The 36-year-old is likely to return to All Elite Wrestling as soon as his non-compete has expired, however, for now, his next in-ring appearance remains unknown.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Andrade’s non-compete clause as soon as we hear more.
