The former Lana was surprised the offer came her way.
On April 18, PWInsider reported that word making the rounds was that CJ Perry, better known to WWE fans as Lana, had signed a WWE Legends contract, timed to coincide with Rusev’s return to the promotion.
In an interview with TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Perry revealed that she was genuinely surprised to receive an offer from the company.
“I’m shocked, too. I was shocked when they called me. My agent called me from Paradigm and I cried. I just couldn’t believe it, but now I’m having fun with it.”

Perry also joked that the deal all but guarantees she’s on the road to the WWE Hall of Fame, though it’s unclear as to whether there are plans for an on-screen return just yet. Perry has remained off wrestling television since 2023, when her run with AEW came to an end.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the possibility of Lana returning to WWE television as soon as we hear more.
